Nuuk
With around 20,000 inhabitants, Nuuk is Greenland’s capital and largest city, combining modern Arctic life with spectacular nature, colorful neighborhoods, and a strong Greenlandic cultural identity.
As the seat of Greenland's government and most important businesses, it is undergoing a rapid development, with a brand new international airport that opened in November 2024. Wander along its colorful waterfront historical district, explore local art, enjoy a "kaffemik" of local food delicacies, and venture beyond the city to experience towering mountains, amazing Arctic wildlife and pristine fjords.
Nuuk is the entrance gate to the second largest fjord system in the world (spoiler alert, the largest one is also in Greenland). The national museum of the town, that showcases the Inuit lifestyle, culture and beliefs, is fascinating.
Ilulissat
Ilulissat is located on Greenland's west coast, 600 km north of Nuuk. Set beside the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord, this colorful coastal town of 5,000 inhabitants offers an unforgettable encounter with towering icebergs, dramatic landscapes, and the timeless culture of Greenland.
It sits alongside Disko Bay, one of the most striking corners of the planet, where you can cruise among floating giants of ice. Approaching these quiet giants is a real marvel, as your eyes get lost in their various shades of blue and white. Sisimiut
Sisimiut is roughly the same size as Ilulissat (5,000 inhabitants) and is rapidly developing as a new touristic hotspot. Known for its gorgeous backcountry of impressive mountains, Sisimiut is Greenland's adventure town, with great skiing, husky sledding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.
Its cute historic district boasts colorful wooden houses, surrounded by rugged mountains and the vastness of the sea. Several Inuit settlements are located just a boat ride away, for fascinating encounters with local fishermen.

Kangerlussuaq
Kangerlussuaq must be one of the most peculiar towns on Earth. It sits in the middle of a mountain rift where the US built a huge airstrip in 1941, surrounded by rugged mountains and barren tundra landscapes. Its prefabricated buildings and military warehouses look like they are straight out of a Mars colonisation movie.
Located a few kilometers from the edge of the ice sheet, Kangerlussuaq is the gateway to the Arctic wilderness, where vast landscapes, endless skies, and extraordinary wildlife create an unforgettable adventure. Local suppliers set-up camps on the ice-cap for unforgettable nights outdoors.
It is a remote destination that offers a front-row seat to some of the Arctic’s most spectacular scenery. Qaqortoq
Qaqortoq is a colorful gem in southern Greenland, where charming streets, dramatic mountains, and sparkling fjords create a truly unforgettable setting.
This is where the viking explorers first landed when they discovered Greenland, because the seas are more calm along the Southern coasts, and the "warmer" temperatures make the region the only place possible for small-scale farming in the spring and summer. Several viking settlements and archeological remains can be found in the region.
Qaqortoq is South Greenland's biggest town. Its infrastructure is limited still, but wandering among its brightly painted houses, discovering its striking outdoor artworks carved into the town’s rocks, and experiencing the warmth of local life in its inviting communities are lovely experiences that you will not find anywhere else on Earth.
